Class Projects
INGL-4327 is the Young Adult Literature Class. In this class, we have discussed the selection and uses of literature according to the different abilities and interests of the students in grades seven through twelve. We have critically analyzed adolescent literature as well as the historical context of the genre and have also practiced preparing a reading class.
Book Talk and Reflection
This was a major project for class in which we choose a book that we had or had not read. We made a PowerPoint presentation with information about the book's author , plot, characters, setting and we thought the book would appeal to young adults. Additionally we also made a video talking about the presentation.
Genres of Fiction Presentation
This presentation was also a major project which was done during the unit pertaining to the different genres of Young Adult Literature and its evolution throughout the years. The presentation includes information on the evolution of the Fiction genre, specifically the following types of fiction: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. The information found in the presentations belongs to Chapter of Seven of our class book; Young Adult Literature: Exploration, Evaluation, and Appreciation (Second Edition)
Mini Lesson
This mini-lesson was among the projects done for this class. This lesson template was done after concluding the reading of a novel titled The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie which was discussed in the classroom.
