Class Projects

INGL-4205 is the Study of Language: Introduction to Linguistics Course. As the title states, this course introduces linguistics and examines the human capacity for language, how language acquisition proceeds, and the theory of universal grammar. It also focuses on children’s knowledge of language and their dependence to structure. 

How Linguistic Knowledge Supports Specific Teaching of ESL

This project involves creating a lesson plan with accompanying handouts and worksheets based on a selected topic in phonetics. The lesson plan was created based on the standards and expectations of the DEPR. The lesson plan is catered to the twelfth grade and centers on the pronunciation of the j and ch sounds. As for the unit, the lesson plan centers on is Unit 2: Walking Into the Future.
